Only stopped for a cuppa but the food looked amazing. The decor was lush, even had gold taps in the ladies, will definitely return to eat one day

We drove past looking for a new cafe to eat an early dinner, we saw this and it looked pretty and wasn’t busy so popped in to check it out. Sunday at 3:30. I really love the decor, the prices were reasonable enough and the staff are welcoming with friendly waiters. After seeing the portion sizes I’d say the prices are more than reasonable and the food itself was really tasty. We overall had a pleasant experience and will return here to see what it’s like a bit busier.

A very nice cafe, good service & food. I bought American pancakes with cherries & ice cream (I had the option of choosing whipped cream instead). There were three pancakes in the stack with plenty of cherries. I also bought a lemonade, the total cost was 11.80 which felt fair for the quality & size of the portion. (American here!) The best food I’ve had in the UK thus far (2-week stay). The atmosphere was very calm, though I wouldn’t doubt it could be hectic if they were busier (as they should be). Service was excellent—attentive, considerate, and patient. Huge proportions for food, food presentation was pretty but also very delicious (unique yet complimentary flavors—I got the chicken florentine), and they offer to-go boxes if needed. I hope they receive and maintain a great amount of support for their efforts and quality—well deserved!

Massive portions, well presented & tasted delicious. I had lasagne, my Dad & my Auntie had fish & chips & my uncle had Pie & chips. All the dishes were thoroughly enjoyed. Fair pricing, not expensive, very good value. Highly recommend.

Situated on the high street, The Star offers good food with excellent service. The resteraunt is always very busy and so plan your visit well. Portion sizes are very good.
